The Epidemic of Apathy

Well it's all around us my friends. Every person I speak with believes our nation is falling into destruction, but they have reasons for not getting involved. I have to work seems to be popular, I don't get involved in politics is another favorite. The list is endless people, there will always be an excuse to not participate in your country and the government is betting on you having that list fully in mind. The media will help you cope, you can just couch potato your way into the loving arms of martial law. Which is more important to you, the future of our country, or the future of the next American Idol?

Don't think that your discouraging attitudes will do anything to diminish my passion for this cause, it is too important to abandon. Don't think for a moment that I will be involved because someday I might be famous, in the history books, or powerful when this is all over. I, like you, wish that it had never come to this. I, like you, would love to just get by, do my job and enjoy my little life. But if we don't do something now the time will come when we can't do anything at all. When dissent will be a crime punishable by death, or worse. When you lose your freedom to speak freely, or think freely, or pursue your own happiness, what will you do then? Will you sit on the sidelines, watching the true patriots be slaughtered as they stand up for your rights? Will you go shopping, watch TV, or get another credit card? Will you do exactly what the controlling interests want you to do?

The irony in this entire mangled herd of American fodder, is that I am not asking you to take up arms, I am not asking you to quit your job, or make your life harder in any way. All I ask is that you educate yourself and others. Stop watching the damn news, read one of the thousands of books, websites, or blogs outlining the crimes of this government, and tell others. If it doesn't get you red in face angry what we are putting up with from this group of crooks, then you haven't opened your eyes yet or they have already bought your support. When you tell others, speak with the passion this should invoke, let the fire of your anger come out, let them see that this is not some trivial list of minor infractions but a serious destruction of the foundations of our Country. I will not sit by silently as our constitution is undermined, while my patriots are being imprisoned wrongfully, while our soldiers are being killed and forced to kill.

If you will not stand up for what is right, then who will. If not now, then when. For God's sake and our own, do not let freedom go quietly into the night.

Revolution vs. Politics

Tonight I spent a good portion of the night meeting with people and singing songs of freedom. It became very clear to me that while it is very difficult to engage people in a discussion about politics, they seem willing to talk about the possibility of revolution.

The reason I think is that while politics are shackled with the stench of eons of corruption, revolution has maintained it's purity as a natural reaction to injustice and tyrranny. Even when discussing the topic with people opposed to revolution they understand the reasoning for it, the drive of the oppressed.

This combination of this language with actions befitting a true patriot offer us the window of opportunity that we will need to be successful. Avoiding the pitfalls of political affiliation will allow
us to cross lines, set directions, and ultimately gain the trust of the people.

While I am a believer in Dr. Paul what that really means is that I am a believer in America, that ideal nation founded on liberty and justice for all. When we rise up and face the challenge of our time, it will not be Dr. Paul in the trenches, nor should he be. He has done more than his part in awakening the American spirit. Let this revolution be known for what it is, an American revolution. A resistance to the tyrranny of corporatism, a dissolving of a union with the aristocracy.

Film in the Time of Revolution

It is an interesting curiosity that only in the last 100 years has the concept of film as a story telling medium been popularized. It was used extensively to mobilize movements around the world, from the Nazi's to the American gear up for the war against them. Film has come to play an important role in our mind set, our lives contain little analogues within the films we watch and these similarities pull from us emotional responses. A couple of my favorite films in the last decade have been The Matrix (mostly the first one but the rest were all right) and V for Vendetta (the film from which the money bomb spawned). As is evident to anyone who has seen these films, the abundance revolutionary subject in them is less than coincidental. They also contain in them each a certain villainy in the role of authority.

Here in the modern time, we are split, by our experiences. So while you may not see corruption in government as a very bad thing, I might, but likely only because of my own experiences or because of my association with the subject matter (via things like film). The point is, not everyone thinks the government is evil, or that there are shady organizations manipulating us into financial crisis and war. Many of my own family and friends consider the current economic difficulty a "result of media trumpeting", and no amount of logic or explanation will turn them from that belief. Everyone has a trigger, everyone has an issue they believe is not being addressed properly. For my Mom and Sister it was the Health Freedom Act and Dr. Paul's belief that we should have freedom in choosing our health care methods. Of course, they are both massage therapists and healers by trade, my mother a 30 + year veteran in reflexology and my sister a budding prodigy in a similar field.

So for anyone who says "I disagree with Ron Paul because of..." remember that there is likely some policy that he believes in that they believe in to. Knowing the issues page on his website has done wonders for me, not just in telling others but for reaffirming in myself the ideals and philosophies that I intend to fight for as my life continues. But now I am terribly off topic, this is about film, and while the above stated films caught me up in the mentality of oppression and the need for revolution (at any cost), there were also films that allowed me to actually see revolution for what it really is.

What the Bleep Do We Know!? is a tremendously powerful film that really sets the stage for personal revolution, and to have that revolution expand ever faster to the world around you. It espouses ideals that Dr. Paul is familiar with, the Golden Rule, and to Teach by Action. These are personal philosophies that when embraced dramatically enhance the quality of life. If they were applied internationally they would undoubtedly do the same for our country. Waking Life is another great film, it is more abstract but touches on the idea that we are an organism together, and we need to take responsibility for our actions and for our place in the world, as individuals and as a species. A Scanner Darkly is a shady cop tale but has elements of questioning authority and self, it also has a lot of that creepy big brother stuff in it but I thought it was well done.

How lucky were we to see the Motorcycle Diaries made into a film in our lifetimes. The story of Dr. Guevara is an incredible one, he lived a life more complete and varied then most men will ever even hear of. If you saw this movie and liked it, read more about Che, there is a lot out there but to see what this one man was able to accomplish in his short life is truly an inspiration to anyone who aspires to make a difference. Lately the trend for film has been documentaries, whether it is Micheal Moore's Sicko, or Aaron Russo's America: Freedom to Fascism the content of films being made about the ineffectiveness of government are everywhere. It is only too bad that most people will not watch them, or if they did will think "those sure are some crazy conspiracy people".

In closing, while the last century has been dominated by film, not all of that has gone to waste. Much of it is the very cause of our desire to take back our country, many of these films are the catalyst from which people will become revolutionaries. If there is a movie I want to see when I am growing old, it is the film about the second American Revolution, when we the people took our nation back.

When Law is Lawless

When Law is Lawless
Originally uploaded by Earnesto Guevara
There is a trend in government these days. It seems that the habit of deceiving the American people hasn't waned in the slightest. From the crime against humanity to the crimes against our liberty to the theft of our money
by the illegal IRS the government has shown time and again that it cannot be trusted with the authority it claims to have. Our responsibility as the governed is to do away with tyrannical governments. It is clearly penned in our constitution. If you lie to your government right now, you face jail time, that is the law. But if and when our government lies to us, what do we get? This is why I believe in Dr. Paul and his message. He states that we need to follow the Rule of Law, not the law the rich decide they want to follow. Fascism is defined thusly by Meriam Webster:

1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
2: a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control

the Patriot Act clearly puts the interests of the state or nation above the interests of the individual, placing a tax on civil liberties to provide a centrally governed "protection". In the Federal Reserve bank we find severe economic regimentation, by manipulating prices and devaluing the currency these banks in collusion with the government have become the central planners of our economy. We find social regimentation in the penning of insane laws, drug prohibition punished in many cases worse then violent crime, which disproportionately imprisons minorities and the poor. Yes we can technically say what we want and think what we want, but what about when you try to say something to a lot of people, you start hitting snags. There is not one major Media company who will cover any part of this revolution. These thoughts will never be played on a radio. Nope the best I can hope for is that a few people will trickle through my website, hit my blog and read. Lucky for us we have the internet or this message wouldn't have gotten this far.

There is a song by the Gorillaz called Clint Eastwood, there is a lyrical segment that I always listen to that makes me think there is more to we the people that we have been told.

"...I brought all this, so you could survive when law is lawless
Feeling sensations that you thought was dead
no squealing remember that it's all in your head."

Well law is lawless, I am feeling a patriotism and revolutionary spirit I had thought dead and the fear of authority that would make someone retreat from the cause is imaginary, they have no authority but what we give them. The illusion of control is truly all in our heads.

The New Web Site

Well I have finally done it. I got crazy amounts of inspiration last night after karaoke, came straight home and didn't stop working on the new site until 7 am when work emails starting dropping in. There are still a lot of things I want to do with it but I would love to get some feedback from someone who isn't Family or close friend. I also found some pretty cool resources to share, check the tools page for tons of useful links for the happy revolutionary.

I would really like to start getting some traffic to it and maybe even starting a community there so tell your friends to swing by. I have a feedback area they can shoot me comments or ideas. Maybe I will even set up a forum where we can share art, philosophy and tips on how to keep your feet dry. Now I need some sleep, the midnight oil has long since burnt out. *thud*

The American Public

I think the strangest phenomenon I have experienced in my life is the general unwillingness to accept responsibility for the conditions around us. There is a general assumption that our environment exists as it is without our consent or input. That in general people are stupid or dishonest and there isn't anything you can do about it.

I call shenanigans! If you see the best in people, the best comes out. If you think and talk about what you want, who you want to be, or where you want to go in life; you will get there. If you think and talk about how hard it is, how you can't or won't make it; you will find all the obstacles you will ever need to accomplish nothing.

This world is of our own making, that is God's gift to us. The power to create, the capacity to love, the ability to learn and grow. Let it not be said that we took this precious gift for granted, let us make the decision to use it and make this world better. Smile at strangers, talk about what you love, dance when you hear music, sing in public. It could be dangerous, it could be embarrassing, it will be life, enjoy it. And please remember, I love you, with all my heart.

Gary Gygax and Ron Paul

I just found this and I think it is absolutely hilarious. Not just because I am a huge fan of Ron Paul, also not just because I am a huge fan of D&D and Gary Gygax, but because they nailed it. If you could have statistical method for measuring people that worked, then this is the paper and dice Ron Paul.

One of the things I loved about playing (or running) D&D and other Role Playing Games was the capacity to walk a path, review the consequence and imagine what was likely to happen without the danger of real life experimentation. Imagination games I think have generally gotten a bad wrap in the many year leading up to the present. I remember as a child being told that it was demonism or some other dogmatic nonsense. RPG's have helped me to imagine what it is like to be in someone else's shoes, and in this life I don't know if there is a more valuable skill.

Oh well, hope you guys enjoy the link. They have a George Bush rolled to, but yeah... he isn't that charismatic.

Ron Paul and the Past Century

It's kind of ironic. The title here is linked to an article of the same name as my blog entry. In this article the author cleverly walks us through the realities involved in taking a step back. Dr. Paul's message of limited government and a return to the constitution apparently sound to many like a huge step backward. And sure enough, the ideas of liberty, freedom and a right to the fruits of your labor are ancient ideals. Wars have been fought throughout the eons of human history, entire nations raised with these ideals. In the end almost all are brought down by the very thing we are now.

So what is the real danger in learning from our past? Is there some compelling reason not to listen to the wisdom of the founding fathers? In 100 years I can tell you one thing that has not changed one bit, it is human nature to crave power, and the more you have the more you want. We are seeing this today combined with a technological capability that has never existed before in this world. The person who will lead this country as commander in chief will ultimately have the power to destroy the entire planet, so great is the nature of our weapons. I can only think of a couple of men who are responsible enough, ethical enough, and trustworthy enough to stand in that position. I'm sorry McBamton but it isn't any of you. Your examples of "leadership" leave me sick to my stomach with the thought of you making decisions for this nation.

Read the article and enjoy a laugh. Post a comment if you wanna chat about it. I am not going anywhere.

The Drug Culture

Today I am writing a plea, to the Drug Culture. You know who you are. My plea is one I have thought about for many months. Before you write me off as some fundamentalist trying to beat you with a book, know that I understand. I was a drug addict. More so, I was addicted to a mentality. That mentality, that perspective on life, gave me many things, but it also took many things from me. Was it worth it? Sure why not, all experience adds up, right? Was the decision to stop a wise one, absolutely, and I will tell you why.

A few years ago I was heavily entrenched in the abuse of drugs. I had lots of friends and we would all get together and messed up, drinking, dropping, puffing, and snorting, whatever it took right? At the time the reasoning went something like this: Life is short, I better enjoy it while I can. Live hard, die young, you know? Better to burn out then to fade away. Then something happened, I fell in love. I know what you are thinking, how cliché, but hear me out, I fell in love... with life, with myself. I found myself sober for the first time in months and I couldn't believe how visceral it all was. Just so happens that months of abuse had made me slip up in my understanding of the law and just as this beautiful epiphany had come to me I was arrested and dealt with by the heavy hand of the law.

To many of you who use drugs, the police are the devil himself. How dare they tell you how to live your life, or what to do with your body, and true enough it makes about as much sense as the prohibition on alcohol. But I am not telling a story about the injustice of draconian drug law, I am telling you about my experience. In that moment, hand cuffed and sitting on the floor of my house surrounded by policemen all I could do was smile... and I whispered to them: "Thank you, thank you for bringing this all to an end". You see, what I had not to that point considered was that my father was right, I didn't need drugs, they were bad for me. And worse they kept me tied to people who really weren't there to bring me up, but to keep me down.

Now many years later, I find myself in a life of fulfilling content. It has had it's ups and downs for sure, and every once in a while I have indulged the desire to bury a bad time in a drink, but when I think of all the times I don't remember, or all the occasions when I didn't feel anything at all, man. I would rather feel the pain, the joy, and the experience of it all. Now back then I was surrounded by people encouraging me to keep going, because they wanted to keep going, let the good times never end. What I would have given for someone to come to me face to face and just ask:

"Hey there, as a friend, as a human being, person to person, can I ask you to reconsider? For me? Just stop using, give it a try, it would mean the world to me, because I care about you, and I want to see you care about yourself."

Now my life has a direction, it has a purpose. I am fighting for a revolution in which hangs the future of this Nation and I see all around me people, numbed by the drugs, who see as I do, but are too busy chasing the high to get involved. Too afraid to draw attention to themselves, because of the nature of US Drug Policy. I see my patriots, enslaved to a master so cunning, so creative, that while he cannot keep them blind, he can keep them silent and impotent. If only one person reads this who struggles with drug abuse, even if they do not change, at least I tried by asking. And if that one person lifts the veil and stands up with me, what a revolution this will be.

I have linked the title here to the momozone. Momo has often provided me inspiration and understanding when it comes to difficult times and difficult situation. Hope you enjoy.

New Friends and the Beating Heart of Freedom

As anyone who sees any of my online work knows I carry the image of El Che very heavily into all of my online activities. What only those who know me in real life know is that I also carry his image with me in the flesh, if its wearing a t-shirt with his image, wearing a baret, or occasionally letting my hair grow out a bit and wearing a mustache and beard (the likeness can be pretty uncanny), I am not ashamed to show my admiration for this person. Sometimes it brings me a little persecution, and sometimes it brings me some attention from people who also love Che or his ideas.

I go out about 2 - 3 times a week to sing karaoke and am usually wearing something that shows people that I am a revolutionary. When I give my name to the KJ to sing I tell them El Che, I suppose that is rather presumptuous of me but hey, it's karaoke and really there isn't a more presumptuous thing to do then to butcher other peoples music at the cost of your fellow audience members. So tonight I am sitting there waiting to sing and this man come up to me, apparently he had seen the name El Che on the KJ's computer screen and asked who that was, the KJ pointed me out. He comes up to me and instantly we are friends, he introduces himself as a proud Argentinian, and authority on Dr. Guevara and he tells me that he really likes my shirt (guess which one I am wearing tonight). From there the conversation was like a roller coaster, like building a 10 year friendship in only a few hours. We talked about his life, as a captain in the Army during Vietnam, as a professional soccer player, as the holder of a degree in sociology and journalism, as a teacher and soccer coach now, and as a huge fan of Che.

This chance random encounter at a dive bar off the beaten path in Colorado could completely change so many things that I have to believe that there is a meaning and a purpose to it occurring. He and my Mother spoke to each other in Spanish for some time, a language I have never learned, and this man has decided that he is going to share some books with me about Che and the true circumstances surrounding his life and death. many of these are in Spanish so I am making the decision to learn Spanish so I can read them. I am going to take the opportunity to share with him as well this message of Freedom, Prosperity and Peace and see if his education in journalism and sociology can help me to advance the cause. Just so happens that he is also a consultant for translation services. So there also exists the opportunity to take many of the messages of Dr. Paul and the revolution and bring them to a broader audience.

I am very excited about the possibilities of all this and I will be sure to post the results as they occur. We also met some other people tonight who were very nice, many of whom I hope to be in contact with. It never ceases to amaze me, with just one conversation, with one passionate representation of my beliefs, people all around seem to come to life. They all want to talk about their own beliefs and feelings, and it is just incredible how many people have such great minds. You would never know it to look around, it could be the older gentleman sitting at the back of the bar minding his own business, the store clerk who rang your order, or the teacher who educates your children during school. All of these are Americans, and deep within every one of us there lies a love of freedom. In some it is on the tip of their tongue waiting for any excuse to jump out, in others it is dormant waiting to be set alight. But in the end:

"There is nothing more powerful then an idea whose time has come" - Paul Williams

Art in and of the Revolution

Tonight I went out to the Art Walk in Denver. And it struck me that while I walked around, there was only a very few pieces of art evident of the dissatisfaction with government that I know is prevalent in America. Even the ones that seems to have an indication of dissent did not seem to show any association or even recognition of the revolution. It seems the only art out here that has the component I am looking for is digital. If the revolution will not be televised, it does not look like it will be hung in galleries either.

The walk took me into the mouth of the beast. There I stood in from of the Denver Democratic Party, being serenaded by wide eyed renditions of Barack Obama’s poetry. Don’t get me wrong, the guy can write, he can speak, if there were appropriate limitations on government he might even make a good president. But in this dangerous time, there are few things more dangerous then a leader with a glib tongue and a head full of ideas on how to make this a better world. The best intentions have often paved the road to hell.

Anyway you can see a lot of the pictures I took over on skitch, which you can get to through my twitter, so if you want to follow my every move go to http://www.twitter.com/earnestoguevara and sign up to follow me, maybe I’ll follow you to. So at the end of the day the lesson is, let us take this opportunity, rise to the occasion, and add our creative force to this revolution.

On a totally personal note, I have the most wonderful girlfriend in the world. She is supportive and inspiring and she keeps me anchored when sometimes I could just float away with my lofty ideas. When my optimism is about to get the better of me, she is there to turn on the light and show me the real situation. So I’d like to just say publicly, Delerium, I Love You! I don’t know how I would get by without you.

Why Dr. Guevara, Why Dr. Paul

To many it would seem that the two personalities I have mixed here couldn’t be farther from one another philosophically. You may be correct in many ways but allow me to explain why I think a person like Che would be so effective with a person like Ron Pual. In Che’s younger life he was exposed to the suffering of the South American people and came to understand that it was a result of US Imperialism. To him the fight was an economic one, and the weapon being weilded against his people was capitalism. He became involved in a movement that had already been growing in South America towards Socialism and ultimately Communism. In my opinion this was environmental in nature, had the roles been reversed and South America be down trodden because of the communist policies of the United States, and having had a capitalist movement around him, he would have gone with that movement.

What Che represents to many people is violent guerilla revolution. Again I say this is primarily environmental. If you have been to South America you know full well that it is a dangerous place. Men who have power are very beligerent in their abuse of that power. To that end the restuls follow the saying:

"Those who make non violent revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable."

Dr. Paul and the American Revolution solve all of these problems with a combination of economic awareness, peaceful protest and a spirit of freedom and liberty that the founders had implanted in our nations roots. Yes if the compassionate revolutionary spirit of Che Guevara was with us during our American Revolution, he would be a most effective instrument to the message of limited government.

The Call to Arms and the Reality of Revolution.

To arms, to arms, the revolution is at hand. This call rings out not in the traditional sense of arming ourselves for violent reaction to the system as it is. This call is to arm ourselves first with truth, with knowledge and with new ideas. We will need these weapons more then any other as the system collapses. We see the signs all around us, the jig is up and we will all pay the price for our willingness to go along. But when things come to an end and the federal government finally stops spending money it doesn’t have, what will we do to survive?

The answer is as it always has been, we will do whatever it takes. We must now be ready, not for a revolution against the system, the system is destroying itself faster then any of us could have hoped, but for a revolution within ourselves. Awaken to the reality that all we have is each other. Learn to grow your own food, make your own clothes, build your own shelter. Learn to defend yourself and be ready to do so. But more then that be ready to share your awareness, through our actions of honesty and compassion we will be better defended then through acts of greed and fear.

My suggestion to anyone interested in surviving and thriving in the coming tribulation is to first: get back to the basics, the golden rule works, always has always will. second: Join a militia, not to learn to attack but to educate yourself on defense, survival and to meet people who will be more effective in a post US world. Third: Tell everyone you know about the difficult times we are facing, spread the truth as fast as you can and encourage others to prepare. Fourth: Stand by your conviction, there will be many people who will call you a nut or write you off as a conspiracy theorist or doomsayer, my answer "rather be safe then sorry".

We are so blessed in this modern time, we have the technology to communicate without boundary, if the romans had this when their empire collapsed history would have been much different. So now we are here and together we can make it. Be ready because it is coming faster then we could possibly imagine.

The Lie and the Truth

There have been many lies perpetrated on the American people. The most visible are ultimately the least harmful. The lie about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, or the involvement of Saddam Husein and Al Qaida, while being supposed reasons for war, were not in themselves what gave the authority. The authority to go to war in a pre-emptive way was never expressly given at all, in fact the constitution strictly states that war must be declared by an act of congress. No such declaration has been made since World War II. The lie that the government has the authority to go to war without the declaration of war from our elected representatives has done more damage to our safety, wealth and well being then almost any other.

At this critical time in history we are witnessing the culmination of all the lies we have been told. The lie that credit will be fine and we no longer need to save. The lie that we can pay for our guns and butter by printing more money. The lie that involving ourselves in the building and manipulation of sovereign nations is the only way to preserve our safety and place in this world. The lie that the government is here to protect you. The lie that the government has the authority or the the right to tax your labor. And the most heinous, the lie that you must give up any amount of your liberty for security.

Here and now we must learn the truth. The truth that the constitution was written to restrain the government. The truth that only through free market and charity can we solve the problems of poverty and crime. The truth that our greatest asset is our people and their ability to create and communicate and organize. The truth that an interventionist foreign policy inhibits our ability to prosper from trade and encourages hatred for us abroad. The truth that we have been lied to, for so long, that many of us were born being told that the lie was the truth. As we stand at this edge in history we will decide in ourselves what values we hold and what it means to be a Patriot and an American. In my heart I know that only in Liberty and Justice to believe, and that I would rather die then to see my son grow up and grow old in a world where he had neither. And you know in your heart what it means to you, then the truth will set you free.

The Fed and it's Death Throws

The current reality should be making people wake up by the millions. This is a real problem, with real causes. Wishing it away or printing up the money to "pay" out a bit longer will only make it worse.
