The Epidemic of Apathy
Well it's all around us my friends. Every person I speak with believes our nation is falling into destruction, but they have reasons for not getting involved. I have to work seems to be popular, I don't get involved in politics is another favorite. The list is endless people, there will always be an excuse to not participate in your country and the government is betting on you having that list fully in mind. The media will help you cope, you can just couch potato your way into the loving arms of martial law. Which is more important to you, the future of our country, or the future of the next American Idol?
Don't think that your discouraging attitudes will do anything to diminish my passion for this cause, it is too important to abandon. Don't think for a moment that I will be involved because someday I might be famous, in the history books, or powerful when this is all over. I, like you, wish that it had never come to this. I, like you, would love to just get by, do my job and enjoy my little life. But if we don't do something now the time will come when we can't do anything at all. When dissent will be a crime punishable by death, or worse. When you lose your freedom to speak freely, or think freely, or pursue your own happiness, what will you do then? Will you sit on the sidelines, watching the true patriots be slaughtered as they stand up for your rights? Will you go shopping, watch TV, or get another credit card? Will you do exactly what the controlling interests want you to do?
The irony in this entire mangled herd of American fodder, is that I am not asking you to take up arms, I am not asking you to quit your job, or make your life harder in any way. All I ask is that you educate yourself and others. Stop watching the damn news, read one of the thousands of books, websites, or blogs outlining the crimes of this government, and tell others. If it doesn't get you red in face angry what we are putting up with from this group of crooks, then you haven't opened your eyes yet or they have already bought your support. When you tell others, speak with the passion this should invoke, let the fire of your anger come out, let them see that this is not some trivial list of minor infractions but a serious destruction of the foundations of our Country. I will not sit by silently as our constitution is undermined, while my patriots are being imprisoned wrongfully, while our soldiers are being killed and forced to kill.
If you will not stand up for what is right, then who will. If not now, then when. For God's sake and our own, do not let freedom go quietly into the night.
